Shanghai International Circuit is a challenging race track that many race drivers enjoy. It starts with a very long right-hander which is very fast in the beginning but slows towards the end before a sharp left-hander. German architect Hermann Tilke designed the layout of the circuit that is inspired from the Chinese character “shang” (literally above or ascend) – the first character in the name of the city Shanghai.
